The event is held in honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, and includes a special pro-am tournament that enables quality local golfers to compete with the big guns of the world circuit. Top Thai golfers like Thongchai Jaidee, Thaworn Wiratchant, and a previous tournament winner Chinnarat Phadungsil have graced the Samui stage and shown the world that Thailand is a growing force to be reckoned with in golfing terms.
